Hi everybody, you all know i have not been posting an entry very often anymore.  I thought I was getting a cold starting Friday and then on Saturday felt a bit worse and now today I feel horrible.  I just took my temperature and its 101.5 so a little fever.  Kyle has been great taking care of me today but Monday I am on my own.

Kyle and I ventured out to sunny Las Vegas for a few days of gambling, debauchery and exhaustion.  We take an annual trip the first weekend of October every year.  We usually stay at the same hotel, in fact there is only gay resort in Las Vegas.  If any of you boys want to check it out here is a link  http://www.bluemoonlasvegas.com  .

We always have a great time while we are there, its sort of an adventure to just explore all the city has to offer.  I went to JET at the Mirage Friday Night, and then Saturday I hit the hottest gay club in Las Vegas KRAVE at Plant Hollywood Resort and Hotel.  Sunday night I was feeling a bit Posh so I got a table at TRYST at the Wynn. 

The other topic I want to cover is really annoying to me.  We usually FedEx our luggage to the destination so I suppose we avoid this problem.  My topic is that people insist on taking giant bags on the airplane.  Most of these old fossils have these huge bags because they are too lazy to go to baggage claim.  I am hoping Southwest will actually enforce some sort of size limit because it pisses me off when it takes 40 minutes to leave the plane because to old bastards cant get their bags out of the overhead compartments or they have to smash the others peoples luggage to make room…its sad…I hate it when old people insist on travelling…maybe ARP should start their own airlines.

Welcome back all, I took a break from the blog I jsut had gotten tired of producing a written comment for every day.  I went to LEVEL for Brunch today and it was wonderful and the service was really great.  I then went to Barnes and Noble and got my international selction of magazines and came across a really great article in OUT magazine.  There is a resurgence of gay bars in almost every major metropolitan city in the US from LA to New York.  It seems the gay community has grown tired of the integration of the straight community into our culture, and I as well fully support this.  This trend is also emerging in Australia and England from the research I did before the posting.  Think of the Short North how you cant go to Axis without having to deal with some fag hags or a stupid hetero cunt on a bachlorette party…I am fucking sick of it go to Park Street you bitches…that’s why it is there.   The Short North really was transformed by he gay community so why give it up so that straight people are more comfortable?  I think we need a real bookstore in the heart of the Short North, a real gay Coffee House ( like the Coffee Table) before the Board of Health cited Black Olive.

This entry I felt like doing something a bit more odd for the blog.  I have decided today I am giving you nothing but my thoughts and feelings and not a tasty morsel to snack on.  Kyle and I went to Montgomery Inn with our friends Brock and Amy.  Any evening with them is always great, they are both good people.  As I might have mentioned before I am heading north with some friends next week to Saugatuck, Michigan (gay Provincetown of Michigan) and I am starting to get that excited, nervous energy.    Kyle and I tend to be be pretty independent so I am not sure how we will do travelling with other people.

Today in the news there is always so much bad energy and negativity I truly think it is important to not change our lives and continue to explore, be adventurous and spend money.  I know the economy is in the tank but if as a people believe that gloom and doom is pending then no one spends money thus only intensifying the impact.   We have to realize the only person that can change our future is ourselves.  In addition I saw that a 2nd Stimulus package may be necessary.  Instead of giving Citibank or AIG multiple billions to get the economy going, why not give each American taxpayer (not people already on Government assistance) $1000, this is money that would go directly into the economy.  Think of how this money would go to Target, Bob Evans, the Dry Cleaners, thus improving the economy, or hell people might even make an extra house payment or car payment, or use the funds for a down-payment for a new car or scooter….don’t you think as a taxpayer who is ultimately paying for the stimulus package you should decide where it goes and get a benefit out of it?  See I told you tonight it was just my thoughts…..XOXO GayPerspectiveCmh

I just got back from dinner with my friends Brock and Amy at Verdi in Worthington Hills.  We try to go once a week to a restaurant that none of us have been to before and jsut have a nice dinner.  Amy chose the restaurant and lets just say there was a reason none of us had been there before.  It is an Italian restaurant that was run and operated by people that might have been more at home with middle eastern cooking or cuisine.  I sort of expected my fettucini to have curry in it.

I have now been to LEVEL a couple of times and you know I have been promoting the Venue for months now…The place is truly beautiful and well done overall.  The one issue is that they hired several people for the Roy G Biv bars and maybe they shouldhave left them there.  The service at Level leaves a lot to be desired.  Holy Fuck I am even a VIP with the staff knowing who I am, I cant imagine how they treat people from out of town.  I am hoping they get the issues ironed out because if not I don’t give them 6 months,  so far they have not lived up to the promises I had heard or the claims or even the competition.  ( Get your Shit Together) and yes I have told the owners that I know as well so I am not just talking smack.

Good evening and welcome back to my simple little blog.  I worked today and it was a little hectic, thank god I have the new LEVEL to regain my sanity.  Its nice to have a place that is elegant, stylish, and gay.  I know several of the people involved and the steps they took to ensure that it was FAR above the competition.  I cannot wait until they get the roof top patio completed, from what I understand that due to City and State regulations coupled with the weight requirements it may take a few additional months to get the patio finalized.  Once the Patio is a reality I think gay nightlife in Columbus will have been revolutionized.  Viva La Revolution!

The second topic I wanted to cover is the frenzy among the kool-aid drinkers of the Columbus Gay Community that are spreading the bullshit propaganda of findfred.com .  I understand if its a great idea or even a wonderful website I truly do.  The annoying part is that every Tranny, Drag Queen, Roy G Biv Queen, Axis Twink has some kind of whacked out access code for the site and all of these fuckers seem to want to spread it all over facebook and twitter…well guess what?  I am fucking sick of hearing about it and have already defreinded  12 people and will continue to do so every time I am subjected to the fucking bullshit.  Take some initiative yourself, you don’t need to drink the kool aid to be accepted….maybe it was part of the required non-compete agreement that people were required to sign to keep their jobs.  I am just thinking this may be a possibility.

Tonight was the VIP and Press Party ( Invitation only ) event at Level Dining Lounge.  There was a small but very exclusive mix of people.  I ran into my friends David ( The Uber-Lawyer) and Roopan Dey of C Magazine.  I drank a few well crafted cocktails from the upstairs VIP area and noticed as I looked around that the entire wait staff is very good looking.  I am very impressed and I truly think it takes gay nightlife to a whole new LEVEL in the Short North.  If I want to put it simply..nothing remotely compares.  I posed for a few pictures and mingled about and had a small conversation with the OHIOGROWN media mogul Chris Hayes (still very, very cute) and his new Barney ( a term of endearment for a hot man) Paul.  I am trying to integrate myself more into the gay community, who knows I am opinionated enough that I might just shake things up a bit.  Its not like I don’t know all the right people, or that I cant get into anywhere in the city, but I don’t really kiss ass…so that is a negative with some people.  I may not agree with everything people do, but at the end of the day I support the gay community in Columbus and all I want is for it to get stronger and stronger.  There is not a Morsel for the entry today just my words and thoughts….savor them and enjoy every last drop.  XOXO GayPerspectiveCmh

Last night was Gallery Hop and once again I made it through.   I have to admit it was endlessly long night filled with invaders from Suburbia and beyond.  I know some of you might be a bit disappointed that I have not been updating the blog as much lately.  I just fell out of love with it I suppose.  I do twitter sometimes as well, its a good way for me to post a thought or two and not have to come up with a whole entry.  As I type this though it is kind of nice to be back and rambling with my internal thoughts.  I am excited that LEVEL DINING LOUNGE  is opening soon, I am of course on the VIP list…what would you expect for a local celebrity blogger?  LOL.  I have had a few people mention they think I am some kind of hater of the Roy G Biv establishments and I want to set somethign straight.  I do not hate any of the owners or employees, it is jsut my opinion that in many ways they have abandon a portion of the gay community and went after the hetero community more for their own monetary gain.  The new U is truly only proudly gay during Pride Month, the other 11 months of the year there are not any pride flags or anything like that and for quite a while they had even removed all the gay publications.  Plus a monopoly is never a good thing and now this FindFred bullshit where I read in an article that they started it because of the tool that owns Manhunt contributed to republicans and no on 8 in California.  I know that is bullshit and you know that is bullshit so why isn’t honesty just a policy?  I have much more respect if it was simply stated “we think we can get very rich off of this and then further redevelop the Short North for our own personal gain”, and in effect invite the hetero invaders and Cameron Mitchell and Black Olive “hipster” followers.  You can disagree with me if you want, I truly dont give a fuck at all but if you havent noticed the changes to the gay community and the Short North you must either be retarded or blind…  For all you fuckers that disagree with me I can recommend a few books if you wish on how the gay parts of major cities around the country have lost their identity because of things that happening  just like they are in the Short North.  I advise any of you to go to Boystown in Chicago which has been more resistant to these changes and the gays there have actually stepped up for each other not just themselves.

I watched American Idol tonight and was sort of in shock that Kris Allen beat Adam Lambert.  I find it embarassing if I am being truthful, if your a regular reader of my blog you know I am not shy with my opinion.  I would bet that the truth will be revealed once the record sales are totalled.  Adam had the range and uniqueness that were compelling, hell he warranted full articles in The Advocate, Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone magazines.  I know some of you are thinking that since I am gay I am going to side for Adam Lambert, and that isnt really true.  I believe that Allison and Danny both were far more talented than Kris, it was quite evident watching the finale tonight.  Allison sang with the legendary Cyndi Lauper and Danny sang with Lionel Richie, both were fantastic while Kris was sad and flat as usual.  Republicans lost the big election but the sad conservatives sure as fuck won American Idol.

In Columbus this week it is “Bike To Work Week”, I fully understand that it is a green initiative but truly how does this make a difference?  If you have ever travelled in any of the Asian parts of the world with the large number of bikers it takes FUCKING FOREVER to get anywhere..so you sit idling in a car far longer putting more pollutants in the air.  Honestly Mayor Coleman might benefit from this initiative since he wont have to ride with his drunk wife…God I loved that Video where she was pulled over HIGHLY intoxicated, they played it over and over on all the Columbus stations.   Living in Columbus where we have a large per capita number of officers per residents it is weird to see all the propoganda spewed out by the mayors office in regard to all the “Services” that will be have to be cut…maybe we dont need a chauffer for the mayor?  or Bodygaurd, or a “Liason” that is paid in excess of 80,000 a year?   This post I know will be unpopular so for that I more than likely will not post any comments.  I have been a life long Democrat and proudly supported Mr. Obama in his quest for President but in Columbus we need new blood in the Mayors office, and the City Council.  The actions of these people makes me think maybe I should be looking for a glimmer of hope within the Republican Party.   Since I am on a political rant today this is for Southwestern City Schools.  QUIT PUTTING THESE LOSER TAX LEVYS ON THE BALLOT EVERY ELECTION AND MAYBE PEOPLE WOULD APPROVE ONE.  I honestly believe if all these parents want to bitch, whine and complain and cry all over the news then why don’t they dig into their pockets for THEIR kids, they had them, it is their responsibility to pay for their own childrens education it is not mine or others people who do not have children.  SO shut the fuck up!   Also please note their are multiple private schools so quit expecting other people to pay your share and dig in your musty old wallet and pay the tuition!

The one random topic I am going to cover today is that Chris Allen made it to the final 3 on American Idol…Are you fucking kidding me?  Sure I know he is cute I am a gay man afterall.  I sat at home watching the show on TIVO and I was floored when I heard Chris Allen was through to next week.  Danny had to vocally pull him thru that terrible duet, he sang a WEAK Beatles song with his pussy voice.  I hope Allison has a great future ahead of her, she deserved the opportunity far more than Chris and had the talent to prove it, maybe sometimes the American Public just are not the best judges….afterall remember back in the period after 9/11 when President George Bush had nearly a 90% approval rating?  We all know how that turned out!

The Gallery Hop was a success this past Saturday, I really think this may have been the best crowd for Gallery Hop in the last year.  The Short North Business Association  http://www.shortnorth.org  is looking for input in regard to the Valet Parking situation in the Short North.  At this point I believe there are 12 different valet stations in the area which is way too many for a tourist destination that is only 5 blocks long.  Plus if your paying valet shouldn’t the car be parked in a  secure lot not in a public parking space on the street?  Enjoy the post and I will see you soon…XOXO GayPerspectiveCmh

Ohhhh yeah I did promise all of you sone info didnt I?  Well the new space at 700 High Street (Old RJ Snappers location) is a new Gay restaurant/bar/lounge and the name is going to be “LEVEL” . I know the owners but out of respect for their privacy I wont name names just yet.  There is a lot of rumor out there and it seems to have the Roy G Biv crowd sweating a little bit.   The sound system is state of the art, nice financial backing and support, great location and a menu that is to seriously challenge U bar+food.   The rumor is that Preven and Brent have been hired for “LEVEL” as managers and to market the new venue in the community and that multiple servers currently at Roy G Biv locations are jumping ship to the new hot gay spot.  I truly believe that competition can only be good for the gayborhood and the Columbus gay community.  These things are my opinion but I think a monopoly truly only serves the people behind it, not the people obliged to it.  Maybe its time all of us decided to take back the gayboorhood/Short Northfrom the Cameron Mitchell fakers and the gay hater like the UBER-bitch Cindy at G & CO Couture.  She did a duplicitious contract with the previous owner and basically stole the business from him (allegedly).  The other rumor is that she is a major hater of gays and the whole gay community in general.  I have some friends that overheard her on the phone at the store talking about how much she “hates all the fags”.    So Roy G Biv and “Level”  I wish you both good luck and a clean competition and maybe more gay businesses will flush out the Hetero-Invaders that think since they are eating at a Cameron Mitchell knock-off restaurant they are all so damn hip….lets reclaim the Short North and leave them Grandview!  XOXO GayPerspectiveCmh
