I was again in “Retail Hell”again today, I honestly thought time had stood still….I looked at my Breitling and it was 4:12 PM and I thought a couple of hours had passed and looked down again and it was 4:45 PM.  What kinda crazy fucked up shit was this?  Usually work goes somewhat quickly and I am busy, but these days around the Holidays have been true torture.  I have plans for Friday evening with Kyle and 3 of our other friends so I have not really scheduled too much for New Years, figured I would just chill and relax.  I tried to convince RED to have a “Cheap Wine and Gay Porn New Years”  party, I can supply multiple bottles of wine ( People tend to give me wine as a gift frequently) and lord knows RED could supply the porn maybe some home made if I know him.

I had a very uneventful day today, however to be honest it was productive here at my house.  I cleaned, did laundry, played with the cutest Black Lab in the world Mr. Corbin, and somehow still managed to get sucked into a non-stop Project Runway marathon on BRAVO.  I was supposed to go shopping at Easton with RED, but just was not in the mood to go spend money..as I get older I guess I am more responsible.

Kyle and I went shopping today at Easton with our Friend Red.  I always enjoy shopping or going out with Red because we completely concentrate on the boys/men around us.  We had a nice little lunch at Brio’, where our waiter had plucked eyebrows and a Prada Spring 2009 look.  I am sure your familiar with the look, sorta that not hot or anything but a look that is smooth, Italian and sorta feminine.  We went to the imposter West Elm where they would have to order anything you actually wanted, after I was in there I thought “What the fuck am I doing in this joke of a store“  we walked around and laughed at the suburbanite wives in there thinking they were actually hip and stylish.

I got a gift card to Macy’s from my friends Alex and Yelena so I thought while we were out it would be smart to check out the sales.   We looked around for a bit…mainly at the boys if the truth be known but I did find one shirt that I thought was fun and stylish and I would actually wear ( I am not a Macy’s shopper typically).  I waited in line since it was very busy and once at the checkout the salesperson gave me the total, I gave him the gift card and he gave a very perplexed look as he scanned the card.  It seems that no value/money was placed on the card….it was very, very embarrassing to say the least.  I paid for it and quickly left, my god what if someone I knew was in there.  When I got home I flicked thru the channels and ran across some French Rugby and decided that the players are the hottest I have ever seen in any sport.  Remember Ben Cohen I showcased him earlier?  Well here are a few pictures tell me what you think.   Are there any rugby players here in Columbus?  Since I am happily partnered, I will refer all the hot rugby players to RED, he would appreciate it I am sure.

Hi there everyone, this will be my last entry until at least Christmas night or the next day.  I will be travelling to southern Ohio (Gallipolis) to visit my family which is always an adventure.  I do know they all mean well and want the best for me in their own way, it just hard sometimes when your family to this day still doesn’t fully accept me for the whole gay thing.  They all have known for quite some time, I told them years ago and you would think they would come around.  Truly there are times I want to say “Fuck you if you cant accept me“  I just find it hard to do, I love them all and I guess I am scared of what could happen.  OK enough of that bullshit let me tell you about my day today.

Said the event’s chairman Frank van Dalen: “Our objective is not to be offensive. This is about visibility.”

Sexy Santa and Razzle Dazzle

Well my friends it was a great night last night at AXIS for the Camp Sunrise Razzle Dazzle Benefit.  It was hosted by Virginia West and she was her usual funny outrageous self, she even ate a twinkie right on stage in the middle of her rendition of Pink’s “So What”. A few of the other performers was the charming Alexis Stevens, Maria Garrison and the Punasti’s Fancy and Pretty. The event was sponsored by Outlook Weekly, Bath and Body Works and Alexanders Jewelers.   Which one of the sponsors vacated their table 45 minutes into the show?  To be fair I have to be honest it was the Saturday before the Holiday and I think everyone may have been slightly over scheduled… I know I was.  I took my friend the Russian ”Fabulous Anna”  and her cutie Russian hottie husband Mark to the show and they really enjoyed the performers and had a great time.  I suppose I should qualify the “Fabulous Anna” moniker.  To begin with she is the daughter of a billionaire who made his money in oil and fertilizer, she is incredibly kind and beautiful and always looks amazing.  I encouraged her to dress casual to the benefit to fit in with everyone and this was the reply “I simply do not own anything casual“  so I said how about jeans?  and she again replied ” Jeans?  why would I wear those?  I am not a worker“.   Ok I guess that doesnt  quite give you a fair understanding  of her, its simply her graciousness in any situation and with whomever she meets.   Her outfit was as any gay man would proudly proclaim “fierce”, Bottega Veneta couture blouse, Versace black silk pants, Jimmy Choo metallic gold python 5 inch hells and clutch.  Ok now do you think she is fabulous?  The fun part of the show was that the drag queens really dug Mark and flirted with him the whole evening, and he was so completely cool about it.    I do wish my friends Alex and Yelena could have made it to the show though, they were missed.  I wanted it to be a fun evening for all of us.

So what are all my readers wanting for Christmas from Sexy Santa?  I hope my list was helpful to all of you looking for last minute items.  I always have really enjoyed the holiday season and for some reason this year it just seems so lackluster.  You got any ideas why let me know…..

I thought about what to post today to my 10’s of  loyal readers and the simple thought is what to get me for Christmas.  I am truly difficult to buy for, usually if I want something I get it myself or Kyle will grab it for me.  So I am sure you can all use these few handy suggestions for the perfect gift for me at least.

Saint Nick!

 

1.)  Vodka…not just any brand I prefer top shelf not the stuff you can get at Krogers while your shopping for a frozen Pizza.  I will suggest Ultimat, Vox, Grey Goose just to name a few.  I do love, love, love me some good vodka.

2.) A gift certificate to one of my favorite stores.  I enjoy Nordstroms, Target, Universal Gear, Saks, Prada and Puma.  I dont make it a habit to ask for a gift card but truly most people have horrid taste, and I prefer things a little more refined than most.

3.)  Black Eyeliner (SABLE) from MAC.  When I go out I admit it I like my eyes to POP!  Dont try to pass off any of that Covergirl or Max Factor shit I am not buying cosmetics at the local Wal-Mart.

4.) A hot beefy boy packing some serious HEAT…..well I just figured if I was asking I should get what I want, what I really, really want.

5.) Underwear from a favorite I mentioned earlier http://www.aussiebum.com, I also like 2xist, Joe Snyder, Cocksox and John Galiano.  I always have fabulous underwear on… well not always on the good times…sorry that made me laugh.

6.)  Some artwork that makes your think.  I love the Short North here in town to explore there are so many galleries and shops to find fun things.  There are a couple of artist locally that are fascinating Brian Reume and Robert Trautman, check them out if you get a chance.

7.)  ok for the last item on my list how about LOVE?  Love yourself and love each other.  I think that gift always seems to be the most illusive.

I had just posted my last entry and decided I needed to order some underwear for Kyle while I was online.  I wondered over to http://aussiebum.com and Good Lord do they make great underwear and the ads are even better.

I am not a surfer, nor have even ever tried it.  I swim in the ocean and of course just splash around and joke with friends and stuff but now this shit makes me want to learn to surf.  I have included a picture or two to inspire all of us to surf, or to at least ride a longboard.

This is the kind of stuff us people in the cold heartland of America known as Ohio just dont get to experience.  The center of gay life here in Columbus is the Short North…and it just doesnt compare to the beaches of Australia and these boys…..got to love a boy with a nice longboard.

Well this is much more like a post of mine isnt it?  I ran across this picture and suddenly all I could think of was a big quenching gulp of Bud Light.  Today was another pre -Holiday day in retail hell, it was very weird almost 100% entirely women, not one single hottie.  Lord knows a hot boy would have helped the day go by faster, or at least occupied my thoughts for a little while.   Kyle and I had a discussion this evening about where to go in February/March we always head out of town for a little Winter Break.  I know I mentioned the Dominican Republic earlier but we keep changing our minds, there are a ton of possibilities.  I would not be opposed to Hawaii, or Argentina which both came up tonight.    Well I am heading to bed, hope you all get a big Bud Light, isnt that what we all want?

Obama…is it just more of the same?

I will say I supported Barack Obama 100% during this Presidential Election Cycle and still think he was the best choice.  There have been some disappointments that went along with his historic victory.  In California Prop 8 was approved and it still dumbfounds me that over 70% of minority voters approved the discrimination of gay Americans.  So a minority voting for discrimination of another minority….and to think over 90% of gay voters supported Barack.  The news today that Barack has chosen Pastor Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California  to give the invocation at Obama’s inauguration, Warren was a very vocal supporter of Proposition 8 in California.  This sort of pissed me off and if your a gay American and aren’t pissed off yet I have included the following quote from some of his pre-election propaganda.  Check this shit out.

“For 5,000 years, EVERY culture and EVERY religion — not just Christianity — has defined marriage as a contract between men and women. There is no reason to change the universal, historical definition of marriage to appease 2% of our population. This is one issue that both Democrats and Republicans can agree on. Both Barack Obama and John McCain have publicly opposed the redefinition of marriage to include so-called ‘gay marriage.’ Even some gay leaders, like Al Rantel of KABC oppose watering down the definition of marriage…Of course, my longtime opposition is well known. There is no doubt where we should stand on this issue…This will be a close contest, maybe even decided by a few thousand votes. I know some of you may read this and think that I have really broken my usual cycle of postings, but honestly I expected more from Barack Obama…have we set ourselves up for another four years of repression and disappointment?

Daddy, I have been bad……

I started my day as usual with a healthy dose of Regis and Kelly, and then jumped in the shower and drug myself to my own personal retail hell in the Short North.  I got a bottle of wine and a tin of popcorn from Outlook Media (Thanks to  Chris Hayes and Michael).  If you know me I would never turn down a bottle of wine.  The day was long to say the least, business is slow but you have to think is the economy really as bad as the media is telling us?  Remember way back when President Dickhead and his flunkys hit us over the head about the Iraqis having weopons of mass destruction? hmmmm they never found any and you know those fuckers looked hard so they didnt look like complete liars but we know the rest of the story now…they lied, no weopons were found, and now everyone knows what a hot mess Iraq is and wants our troops out. 

The evening we met with a friend to discuss Kyle possibly joining the board of a prestigious local charity.  Kyle being a CFO of a major business and with his educational background would be an ideal fit.  I really have no time for charity, I go to events and things but my time not at work is better spent buying shoes.  Afterall isnt life to short to go thru it in inferior footwear?  Speaking of inferior footwear I was at Saks yesterday (the shoe section for men sucks ass there) my friend and shopping assistant that works there mentioned that someone came in and asked for “Von Dutch”…needless to say I was floored by that.  What did this tool expect?  maybe a magical time machine in the back where Von Dutch is actually back in fashion?  or maybe even a time warp to take his fool ass back to 2001?   

 Ohhhhh yeah by the way today at retail hell it was a strange combination of just like yesterday HOT, HOT DADDYS…..asking my opinion on what they should  get the mother of their children and all I could think of was the vile, lustful things that could be accomplished in the backroom.  I will report more on the Hot Daddy Phenomenon later, it is a real shame to waste all those hot daddys on straight women…….

Liz Rosenberg the publicist for Madonna told The Associated Press today that Madonna has settled with (limp dick) Guy Ritchie for “at least 50 million pounds”, which converts to about $76 million or more depending on the exchange rate.  The figure includes the values of the Madonna’s Ashcombe home (1200 Acres next to Prince Charles Highgrove Estate) in western England. Rosenberg adds that while the financial part of the settlement has been agreed upon, the child custody arrangements have yet to be finalized.  I remember reading a statement from Guy Ritchie when the whole divorce drama started that he “didnt want a penny” , that sure as hell changed.  I guess he figures that might help finance a few more of his shit movies.  Well my hope is that money grabbing no talent  fake ass director decides to stay in England for good.

I had a very busy day out and about today.  I woke up early and watched Regis and Kelly which I always do..I think Kelly Ripa and her uber-hottie husband Mark should both be cloned.  Well anyway to get to my day I went to the Short North to Paul Robinette http://paulrobinett.com to grab a few candles to give as stocking stuffers and small gifts, then to SoBo http://sobostyle.comto look for a few things for Kyle (Its one of his favorites).   Then I was feeling a bit adventurous and headed to Tuttle Mall since I have not been there since 2002 or something.  It was very similar to what I remembered not alot of changes or anything exciting.  I have to admit that the place was chock full of some daddy hotties….made me think all kinds of sinful thoughts.  What is this strange Hot Daddy Phenomenon that is sweeping through Tuttle?  Everywhere I looked a hotter daddy..in the food court, in front of Victorias Secret, pushing strollers…all the time me thinking very unpure lustful things about the caliente papis!

Christmas is looming…..Stuff my Stocking?

Its a nasty overcast and Rainy day here in Columbus.  I am going shopping with a friend for a few last minute gifts.  I often think I am done and then remember someone else.  I always have this phobia I will get a gift for someone and not have anything for them.  I gave RED a gift already because I was not sure on how to wrap it.   I think we are going to hit the Short North and hopefully Easton and/or Polaris.  I will include a hot picture to help all of you through this dark dreary day, hope you all enjoy. 

The ground floor……

Kyle and I have began the process or at least the exploration process of starting a new business in a area that neither of us is familiar.  Kyle is a successful CFO of a multi-million dollar International company and I have had a career in banking and now retail management along with assisting my parents with multiple business they owned and some they still currently do. 

We have initiated demographic information on the surrounding area, met with our financial planner, even contacted a real estate agent friend to begin looking for a perfect location.  We have been debating on location as to stay within a gay defined area or perhaps locate in one of the emerging areas or who knows we might be brave enough to create our own emerging area.  When you start this it is exciting but very trying on your nerves.  I know I have been quite vague as to the type of business but all of you will know when the time is right.  Plus I have a web designer we use at my location in the Short North and I am sure he is up to the challenge for our business and website.

Dysfunctional ?

As a member and supporter of the community here in Columbus there is a duty you have to be involved and make a difference. Well I am a bit bewildered by the whole Network Columbus organization. I love Outlook and read it faithfully and I even try hard to support other businesses owned or managed by members of the community, but I am beginning to doubt myself. I again agree with the premise of the organization much like I agree with HRC and Stonewall Columbus, but is there a real agenda? a real agenda of change? or even a policy of acceptance? As I looked around the room it was so easy to see the personal agendas of the Realtors and Insurance Agents, but not the organization. There is not a sense of community or acceptance or even inclusion. The crowd is in the same clicks as it was the last several meetings I have observed…is this really making a difference or improving gay rights or understanding?

The entire Gay Movement needs an overhaul, a jumpstart, some balls if you will. I have talked to several of my friends and we all had the same opinion on Network Columbus, HRC and Stonewall here in Columbus. Hell even the businesses that make the most money from the gay community in Columbus cant even muster the effort to put a simple float in a gay pride parade, but a bar from Dayton and one from Cincinnati can? I feel like a roman citizen at one of the fights when you call for fresh blood……and in Columbus it is definately time for that.

Another Day in Cowtown

This was another typical day before the holidays, my work keeps me very busy and quasi-fulfilled. I am really glad that we could help sponsor Razzle Dazzle for my friend RED (here is a link to his blog which is always good for a laugh and is certainly entertaining http://underthebigredtop.blogspot.com/ ) . We ate dinner tonight at Max and Erma’s in German Village it was ok, nothing great just normal columbus food. As we sat there and talked I started to think of how nice it would be to just get out of town for a while.

Kyle and I are planning a small trip to Dominican Republic in February, I think RED might go with us as well…who knows he might be preoccupied with Sketchy Norwegian Trade or maybe a Cowboy that just recently entered the picture. I have decided with this blog I want it to be entertaining and to include things that grab my attention…hopefully they get yours as well.

I am including pictures of the Bartenders of New York, I have been to every bar in the city of Columbus ( I DO LOVE A NICE COCKTAIL….no jokes here) and havent seen anything that even remotely looked like this.  I do know a hottie little blonde girl (WASSUP ?!  ASHLEIGH FENSCH!) that works behind the bar at Park Street Tavern. (If you see her you better tip her ass…you cant buy pot on just your good looks)

Elizabeth Taylor was out last night at the Abbey in West Hollywood with a few friends, her assistants and a bodyguard or five. Its nice to see that at 76 Liz can still go out and party with the boys that like the boys. Long live Liz!

Ahhhh the Holidays…..

The time is upon us once again when we scurry about to find the perfect gift for our friends and families only to realize they dont appreciate them anyway. I have decided that this Christmas everyone is getting gift cards or alcohol. Who doesnt like a good stiff drink?

I had dinner tonight with Kyle and our friend RED, we had a good discussions about an upcoming charity gala that RED is coordinating, and of course the plans for our upcoming business. We have already began scouting possible venues and locations, gathering demographic research and yes even figuring the financials. Well I will let all you boys and girls go this isnt a very exciting entry tonight. Later Bitches.

Milk….incredibly moving and powerful

I just got back from the South Campus Gateway Theatre after seeing “MILK” directed by Gus Van Sant. Sean Penn and James Franco both gave performances that are inspired and endearing. Harvey Milk lived his life with the single thought that he could make a difference..we all can make a difference. I wish this movie would have opened prior to the election in California, Its powerful enough to revitalize a movement. I honestly expect 4 Academy Award nominations.
